A Starburst Sky

December 8th, 2020, Clam Beach, Humboldt County, California

Revisiting this photoshoot from my book, Humboldt Sunsets. There was a spectacular display of clouds for this evening’s sunset. Like a starburst exploding from the south and reaching north across the sky. They looked like this when I first arrived.

As the sun set, the clouds took on a gorgeous hue

Here’s a closeup of the sunset

The streaks of clouds shifted and straightened as the evening progressed

And then these deep pink colors developed 🤩

The sky looking back east was equally stunning, with sweeping arcs of clouds illuminated in pink light

A few more

It was exceedingly difficult to choose which of these photos to feature in the book, I finally settled on these two from above, but I constantly question that choice 😂

I haven’t yet added any of these individual photos for sale on my website, are there any you would love to see available for purchase? Let me know!
